The purpose of this group is to provide a supportive community for people who love to write but who can never seem to find the time when left to their own devices. This group will give deadlines that must be met and where peers can give constructive criticism and feedback to each other. Trade tips on overcoming writer's block, procrastination habits, and the like. As well as get together and discuss writing and books with others. Anyone who needs that extra incentive to sit down and write is enc …
Writers mostly write. Besides writing, the second most important act is submitting. I'd like to meet once a month with a group of writers who are submitting their work. During this meeting we can exchange ideas about motivation, where to submit certain kinds of work and the mechanics of submitting material. We can map out strategies for submitting work and make committments to the group about the process.
Writing can be lonely existence. Sometimes, it's good to get out from behind the keyboard, see the sun and take a moment to talk to others who feel your pain, know your highs and lows and can offer support and guidance. The Westchester Writers Round Table is open to anyone who has decided to take the plunge and work on the craft of becoming a writer. It doesn't matter whether you've just finished your first chapter or have published a dozen books. Whether you write mysteries, children's books, h …

If you're blocked or are having trouble writing, we'll work on what's getting in the way. If you've written and want to get published, we'll find out what the next step is (including self publishing). We'll talk about - who your favorite writers are, and what you like to read. In this group we'll get together to do good work, and have fun!

Are you a writer in your 20s or 30s looking to share your work, improve your writing skills, and have a good time with people in your age group that share your interests? Publishing credits and skill level don't matter here. The only requirement to join is a love of writing. We meet twice a month on Saturday afternoons in a public setting to share our work, try some writing exercises, and generally enjoy each other's company. We also occasionally indulge in "inspiration trips" to literary eve …
When I was looking for members to join an established writing group of which I am part, I found there were many people who wanted a group for the beginning or novice writer. I started this group for those who might be intimidated by authors they feel are further along in their writing. I will be facilitating the group by giving writing assignments and exercises to those who would like them. I will also guide the group in their critiques which can be helpful to new writers and new groups in gen …
This group offers a forum for writers to learn and exchange practical information they need to get published. Members gather to ask questions and give advice about every stage of the publishing process, from writing a manuscript to querying an agent to negotiating a contract. While there are many groups for writers out there, most focus exclusively on the craft of writing, while failing to address the practical information that publishers really care about and that can make or break a book deal. …

An ongoing group of writers that meets every Monday night at a restaurant in White Plains. Two people submit every week and the group reviews their work and discusses it at the meeting. Meetings are usually two hours. A writer will on average submit once a month. Before being admitted to the group, we require a writing sample. Any representative work will be fine. It doesn't have to be long.

We hold all kinds of community events such as author talks, poetry open-mic and our monthly Storytelling Fridays. Downstairs we have a dedicated writers' room where …

We are a group of writers committed to pushing each other to achieve the writing life (and audience) to which we aspire.
