The Stratford Scribes is a group of Fairfield County writers serious about the creation and publication of their craft. The group meets in Stratford, Ct. and owes a philosophical debt to Roberto Calas for both the tone and format of the meetup. We are a group of writers committed to pushing each other to achieve the writing life (and audience) to which we aspire.

  This is an adult creative writing group for people who seek motivation from fellow writers to keep up a regular practice, complete pieces and set goals for next steps.  Monthly readings and other events serve as deadlines to get new work accomplished.  Come prepared to give and receive a supportive yet critical ear.  Together we can tap into a greater motivation and celebrate our combined literary strength and diversity.  Enjoy...learn...grow.  Keep writing and see you soon!

We'll read award winning novels in a variety of genres: Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror and Mystery. We'll mix it up as much as possible, while sticking to the major awards- World Fantasy, Hugo, Nebula, Bram Stoker and Edgar. If you're into reading great genre fiction and would like to discuss it with others, this is the group for you.
