We are an eclectic bunch of mostly native English speakers, ranging in age from 20s to 60s, teachers mainly, but also journalists and people in business. Some of us publish regularly, some not, and some have aspirations in that direction. We meet on the third Sunday of most months to read and make constructive comments on each other’s work. Most of the work is fiction and poetry, but other genres are welcome. Our forma …

The Gidayu Association is dedicated to teaching the traditional art of Gidayu. Gidayu is Japanese ballad-drama, an integral part of Kabuki and Bunraku, and a powerful form of theater in its own right. In Gidayu, a chanter sings and narrates a story while accompanied by a shamisen (a 3-stringed instrument). If you love singing, telling stories, traditional Japanese theater, or shamisen, consider giving us a try!

I am a working artist that is interested in gathering together a group of artists on a monthly basis to talk about works in progress or bouncing ideas around with. Critique is such a strong word. Think of this more as a place to share what you are working on and getting constructive feedback or talking through and sharing ideas with fellow artists. I also hope it will be a way for all of us to share information about any interesting exhibitions or events going on in the Tokyo area. Think of this …
In Japan, we have a lot of "gaijin" (foreigner) musicians, but their (our) activities are separated from Japanese musicians/music scene. Let's get together and get connected, share info, learn about Japanese music business, and create exciting music! All Japanese and non-Japanese are both welcome. We have monthly meeting/session on every second Wednesday at Cozmos cafe (shibuya), called "Gravity Centre-(post jazz) session".
This group was started by two guys from the UK. It's for people who want to see alternative / independent live music in Tokyo. Bands we've seen before include Mogwai, Mono, Sigur Ros and Isis. Dance, Punk, Metal, Classical, Jazz, etc. This site is for you and what you want to do is up to you. Let's suggest and support this meet up and keep this better! A …
