The Gidayu Association is dedicated to teaching the traditional art of Gidayu. Gidayu is Japanese ballad-drama, an integral part of Kabuki and Bunraku, and a powerful form of theater in its own right. In Gidayu, a chanter sings and narrates a story while accompanied by a shamisen (a 3-stringed instrument). In Japan, we have a lot of "gaijin" (foreigner) musicians, but their (our) activities are separated from Japanese musicians/music scene.
