We're a group for London's creative writers to read their work and get constructive feedback in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. At our meetings we have six reading spaces per meeting. Taking a reading means you'll read your work for 10-15 minutes and then given critique/discussion from around the table. It sounds a lot scarier than it is, trust me! Most members are either working on short stories or a first novel but we welcome any creative writer seeking advice and encouragement. We end each ev …
Traditional publishing is notoriously difficult to break into for a new writer. How can we bring our creative ideas to the attention of others in the new digital world? There are other options out there and I think it would be great for writers in Tunbridge Wells to share their ideas and experiences of life, writing and publishing - as well as being a social group, good way to pitch ideas to each other and encourage and support artistic endeavour in Tunbridge Wells. This is a new group and I …
Writing can be difficult and lonely. Sometimes we need to get out and away from our own distractions and excuses. Pubs, cafes and parks are nice but wouldn't it also be good to be part of a group of writers? So let's work quietly together, gently encouraging each other to soldier on, and minding each others things when we have to go to the loo... THE IDEA Is simple. We are a serious group of writers that meet somewhere comfortable and write for 2, 3 or 4 hours straight. Each person wor …
WriteClub gives professional writers, enthusiastic amateurs and anyone else with an interest in writing a place to meet. WriteClub is a very open group (that means that everyone is welcome) with no agenda, no format and no plan. WriteClub is just a way for writers and non-writers to meet each other in a friendly, relaxed setting. We meet on the third Thursday of every month, in the upstairs bar of the Blue Posts at 81 Newman Street, London W1T 3EU, from 7pm on. See you there! WriteClub began in …
… Others can critique this, give an initial reaction, and recommend changes. get into pairs or small groups and work together, either during the Meetup or longterm. talk about illustrators/writers that are influential/points of reference, and see what we can learn from work they have done. writers can post links to blogs with outlines of ideas they might have, so that the illustrators can have a look and see what appeals as a possible project. talk about 'methods', i.e. is it best to draw panels a …
… If you're an actor, help our writers to bring their writing to life!

Silence, concentration, a desk, set hours for writing. Forget about it! This is a group for women who fit their writing around their children, who write whenever and wherever they can, who think about plots while shopping for groceries, and discuss the motivation of a character with a six month old baby. Come and join our child-friendly writers' group (and child-friendly meetings). PS: Writing dads are welcome
Calling all actors and writers in West London!! I am starting an improvisation group and if you would like to come along and be part of it you would be most welcome. My plan is for writers and actors to come together in order to create an original piece of theatre. For actors it will be a good opportunity to hone your craft in a safe non-threatening environment (I’m not going to do any scary theatre games and you will work in groups). For writers it’s a chance to study how people communicate and …

This meetup group is for people working through the creativity book 'The Artist's Way' by Julia Cameron. Each week we review our work on a specific chapter of the group, including our experience of the Morning Pages and the Artist's Date. The format of the group is based on Julia Cameron's sacred circle concept and if the group decides to do some exercises as part of the meeting, they will be in 'creative clusters'. This group will be self governing with meetups being suggested by members. Che …

This is not a Networking Group, monthly meetings are low on our objectives. The meetings we have are SKYPE based to discuss actual pre-prod, prod and post issues. Please do not join this group if you expect a socializing group! We are also not a bodyshop to help individual aspirations! I am an experienced IT professional, programmer, engineer and technical project manager. My friend is a computer programmer. We both have a passion to write, direct, and produce independent film. We have had a ha …
