Edinburgh Creative Writers Club meets every Monday in Pulp Fiction Books, located at 43 Bread Street, on Mondays. Most people bring something to read and the range style/form, is wide. We've heard poetry, short stories, children's stories, flash fiction, scripts, novels, even ideas ..... and have had discussions over all sorts of things (some even writing related!) including submitting to agents/publishers and dealing with writer's block. Equally you can bring someone else's work, maybe a belove …

The Leeds writers group was set up to allow local writers to give and receive feedback on novels, short stories and poetry in a structured but relaxed environment. It's for complete beginners to experienced writers to share advice, tips and experience. We're also starting to run workshops and have socials for people to chat about their writing and poetry in a more informal way.
A group of creative writers who publish their work in a cooperative. We meet upstairs in Spoon (opposite the Festival Theatre in Nicholson St, Edinburgh). We have regular meetings working in whatever way seems productive to develop the work of any writers who bring along their work, their troubles, or their ideas. We are a publishing cooperative, producing the best of author's work in printed and online anthologies, with any profits being returned to the authors, editors, and administrators. We …
Bringing music and art lovers together for gigs, concerts, art shows and random social gatherings. I expect most events will be in Leeds but i have no problems with them being anywhere in the country. It's up to you where we go. As far as live music goes, i think the best site for keeping track of upcoming concerts is Songkick http://www.songkick.com - enter as many artists/bands/musicians as you like and Songkick will tell you when they're next playing. It should even email you to let you know …

Edinburgh is an amazing city - I know that's why I moved here. Its full of beauty, life and vitality but small enough to explore. It is culturally diverse with a lot to offer throughout the year - from the big art festivals to the smaller events, music, art, cinema, theatre, comedy, street performance, literature... you name it it happens here at some point throughout the year. I've set this group up to sample some of that with like-minded others in an accessible down-to-earth way. You don't hav …
What is Jelly? http://workatjelly.com/ Jelly is a casual working event. It's taken place in over a hundred cities where people have come together (in a person's home, a coffee shop, or an office) to work for the day. We provide chairs and sofas, wireless internet, and interesting people to talk to, collaborate with, and bounce ideas off of. You bring a laptop (or whatever you need to get your work done) and a friendly disposition. Watch this video about Jelly, or read about it in Wired. What's …

Purpose: To encourage people to delve into their creative side, to help people discover the difference creativity can bring to their lives, to inspire each other, to help people develop their creative gifts and talents, and to meet like minded people. It is time to really connect with our creative side. Be it - writing, music, photography or anything else. I believe creativity is key in these changing times. The profit and target driven mentality of the workplace has largely discouraged creativi …

This a social network for people who suffer from depression and anxiety, and want to make connections with others who “know what it’s like”. We arrange some on-topic support group events, as well as many random get-togethers. The group is private (i.e. no one can see who the members are) and will always remain so. It’s also not a public service, as I fund the group. If I was asked to describe the group ethos, I'd say: nothing is expected of our members, and, the belief that people should be in a …
