My critique group has been meeting for over a decade. We have been at the current location for about 2 years.

We meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. Members arrive at 6:30, eat dinner, then we will begin critiquing pages.

You are allowed to bring 10 pages of your work at each session. Bring one set for every person who responds that they are coming. It is imperative that all attendees RSVP so everyone will know how many sets of pages to print.

The group will read your pages silently and make comments on the pages. When we are all finished with the set, we will discuss your project - what's good and what requires more work. Then we move on to the next set. Any set of pages we did not get to in a session will be first in the next session.

Being on the receiving end of a critique of a script or novel can be difficult for writers. Learn not to defend your every word. Be open to suggestions and remember - if 2+ people have the same or similar comments, you should pay attention and be open to change.
