I just joined this group shortly after finding out about the site. It made me feel happy and connected to see this group close to my area. Thank you for making this possible. I have limited transportation, but I do hope to make the June meetup as long as work doesn't interfere. ”

“ Publishing isn't my immediate goal because I am still developing my skills. I want to become good enough to try, so no, I won't just stick my stuff in a drawer and let it grow mold. The only way I'll know if the stories I want to tell are working is to let other people see it, so I'm just going to have to get over my discomfort. I'm really hoping to learn from those in the group with more experience. ”

“ Randy - Joining this group was a step towards comfort with sharing my work. I've been doing an online writing class and found that I enoyed sharing my work, even though it was nerve-wracking. The anonymity was helpful at first, but if I want to push myself and learn, I need to move towards face to face critique. My only experience of that is from movies, though, which always looks so painful (have you seen Wonderboys?). So, I'm glad to hear that that goal is respectful critique. ”

“ Since you asked, I'd love it if our meeting were closer to South Kitsap - I don't think I even know where Kingston is! I work in Tacoma, so I need to tack on a half-hour commute to get to a meeting. I'm most familiar with Port Orchard, but I know Bremerton/Silverdale and Poulsbo a bit as well. I volunteer to bake for any meetings! ”
