Meeting Description

Who

We welcome anyone who is willing to share 5 pages of something they have written for a middle grade or young adult audience.

Why

This will be a great chance to get a taste for everyone's style, and hopefully be pulled into some compelling stories.

Organized by

"Meet upstairs."

Details

At our first meeting, we got to hear intriguing descriptions of everyone's projects, but unfortunately ran out of time before we could share writing samples.

For our second meeting, we want to make sure we all get a chance to share our writing. After all, that's what this group is all about.

If you are comfortable doing so, before the meeting, please upload 5 pages of a story to share with the group. (Click on the File tab on the left of the screen. To protect your work, when you upload the file, check the bubble allowing only members of this group to see it.)

Include a short paragraph telling the group what you are looking for in terms of feedback--what kinds of questions you have, what they should focus on, what level of feedback you are looking for (e.g. general impressions vs line-by-line critique). The more specific you are, the better we will be able to help you.

During the meeting, everyone will read their piece out loud (or at least a part of it, depending on time and the number people at the meeting). The group will then provide their impressions, keeping in mind the type of feedback requested from the author.

Hope to see you there.
