I come from a tradition where everyone has something to say and anyone can play with words. I want to create an open group free for all to experiment, be foolish, learn from each other, and share whatever is on your mind. Poetry is about the unique self expression of universal themes, not submitting to be a part of an elite club. Anyone, ANYONE - even if you can barely spell - should feel welcome to express your joy, confusion, rapture, f*cking rage, or whatever.

Pittsburgh Poets May Meeting
Come with at least 10 copies of a poem that you'd like us to hear and respond to. All criticism will be constructive and, above all, honest. Don't expect to impress everyone, or even anyone, this is for you. We'll make every effort to let everyone in attendance read every time. If we can't get to someone it won't be because of any supposed merit. It's a first-come, first-served thing. Read more
