PLEASE NOTE: You MUST send a writing sample and be approved by the leader before attending a meeting. WHAT: Non-rhyming poetry is preferred--NO beginner's or religious or sentimental poetry. Literary fiction only--NO romance, sci-fi, Christian, or other genre fiction. WHO: This will be an intermediate group for writers who have had some training or been published. WHY: To provide support, constructive criticism, and structured deadlines for writers who are serious about publishing. We may also attend or give readings in the area. WHEN: Once a month somewhere in the Front Royal/Winchester area. TO JOIN: Please send one-two writing samples to Heather at hdavis@jsi.com. Space is limited. Heather holds an M.A. in creative writing from Syracuse University and has published poems in numerous journals. Her first book of poems, The Lost Tribe of Us, won the 2007 Main Street Rag Poetry Book Award. She is a member of D.C.
