Northwest Houston Writers February Meetup

The meeting will begin at 7:00 promptly and last no more than two hours. Each member is to bring 6 pages to share with the group. We will listen and critique each piece. Paying close attention to the hook. Capturing the reader at the beginning is important, especially when sending work to agents and editors
We will discuss the first two chapters of the books suggested for reading. Hooked and The Well Fed Publisher.
It is important to become a part of professional writers associations. These are called friends on our side. Two such organizations are:
The Independent Book Publishers Association www.pma-online.org and Small Publishers Association of North America www.spannet.org
Please seek membership in these organizations.
We will share information on writing contest and freelance writing opportunities around the country.
I will have copywriting forms to share with the group next meeting and assist with filling them out and mailing if needed.
Anyone not having the opportunity to share their work by the end of the meeting will be first at the following meeting. We want to be fare to all.
