About Cary Area Writers' Group

When the Cary Area Writers Group was first organized, we tried to be everything for everyone. Several subgroups were created to satisfy any and all interests. Many new members spoke of being a writer; some shared their dream of being a published author. Apparently, life intervened since most never attended a meeting.

CAW is now a small group of dedicated members who are actively writing. Not merely talking, not merely dreaming but actually writing. There is only one certain way to become a writer? write.

Do you need tender nurturing to turn your timid soul into that of a best-selling author? Do you need constant, loving encouragement to overcome your fear of having others read your writing? Look elsewhere! All we offer is honest, constructive criticism? and a few writing tips every now and then. Magical metaphysical miracles are not part of our mission statement (if we had one).

We currently have two subgroups: a novel group (closed to new members but with a waiting list) and a fiction writing workshop accepting new members. More information on the two groups can be found on the Message Board . If you need further information, please contact the Organizer.

Members are welcome to form subgroups of any specific interest. All that is required is a single member willing to be an Assistant Organizer. Everything else, including startup assistance, is free.
