This is an associated group of the original Suffolk County Writers Workshop, based on Long Island.
Like the original, S.C. Writers Workshop 2 is a group of fiction writers who get together once-a-month to critique each others work. Essentially, we discuss what we like about a piece, and what we think can be improved.
The only difference: we meet on the second Monday of the month.
The emphasis is on nurture: how one writer can help another via thoughtful comments and suggestions.
Everyone's manuscripts (2,500 words max) are traded via email prior to the meeting, then printed out and "marked up" with comments and suggestions.
If you're a fiction writer looking for a close, ongoing appraisal of your work, you'll probably get a kick out of this meeting. Every genre of novel and short story writing is welcome.
We meet at at Panera Bread (Bakery and Cafe) (5191 Sunrise Highway, Bohemia, NY 11716, (631) 589-1988). You'll find Panera on the east end of the K-Mart Shopping Plaza, across from Old Navy.

”
