Dear Rockland Authentic Writing Group:
I would like to invite you to attend our upcoming next writers meeting, which is this coming Sunday, June 22, at 6:30 p.m. Full details are below here, and will be on the site shortly.
Those who are new and those prospective to our humble group, if you have not already received and read our Rockland Authentic Writing Group Guidelines, please go ahead and write to me asap (soulintune@gmail.com and/or on the site itself), and then check in with me afterwards. Also let me know if you have any questions as soon as possible, as it?s difficult to answer them on Sunday.
IMPORTANT NOTE: YOU MUST RSVP ON OUR WEBSITE (www.writers.meetup.com/741) To do this, please go to Calendar on the nav bars on the left, click and find date of meeting, hence the title RSVP ? that way it gets on the site. Messaging is fine but isn?t reflected on the meeting list. Please note that if you hit "REPLY" (on the site), your message will be sent to everyone on this mailing list (writers-741@meetup.com). Meetings are always held in the Rockland County Area of New York, and this week?s exact meeting place & directions will be sent after you RSVP ?Yes?. Do please make sure to get directions early and Google (www.maps.google.com is the best, I?ve found), so that we arrive on time and begin the meeting at 6:30 p.m. We will have snacks and coffee available beforehand and at breaktime ONLY (to concentrate solely on the writing in the meeting), so we encourage you to come earlier than 6:30 p.m. if you want to catch the grub?..
If you haven?t really perused our website lately, (www.writers.meetup.com/741), check out some of the new verbage on the description of our group. If you find you?d like something else to be on there after your experience of the actual meetings, , let us know so we may tweak and make our website even more marvelous. J
And now, the drum roll, please?the phrase/subject for this week?s homework assignment is:
On The Other Side
The story assignment (500-words or less) is always optional. However, it is encouraged?.our works are collectively like a flower, the petals, our own individual ?take? on their color, texture, size, shape, and scent?.I?m into the-more-petals-the-merrier, myself. Please only bring one copy of your story (the one you will read from), and we encourage you not to preface your story before reading. The story stands alone on its own two feet -- believe it!
Thanks and hope to see you all this coming Sunday, June 22nd.
Marianne, your RAWG Organizer
p.s. Sadly, Mark Twain will not be able to attend this time....
