"Em, the excerpt is very quick and very clean...moves your characters quickly while revealing more about the 'relationship' of Lan and Mason...I thought the reference to the females and abuse was an interesting 'let in' for the reader. you might want to stall it a bit there, and let it soak in for the reader if this is the first reference to 'abuse'... good luck, I know you have a deadline... "hi, if you can get to the Palatine train station, I can pick you up,(but that probably means you have to go to Chicago to do it) but I think that is the only way to get out here. Perhaps there is a bus or shuttle system to woodfield mall at the base? we are right across from there, and there are trolleys, that go around the schaumburg/woodfield area, about every 15 minutes. smiles, Sandi"
