Baltimore Free-Writes invite you to...

Revel in your creativity
Play outside the safety of your room
Sail away upon a sentence
Howl blithely at the moon

A Free-Write is a time to gather with others who desire to write. The practice of free-writing allows one to explore different subjects, styles and genres by using a variety of prompts, randomly selected words and exercises designed to jumpstart creative process. Participants write for a pre-determined amount of time, usually between three and ten minutes, for each exercise. Then, they have the opportunity to share their work with the group.

This is not a critique group. The work that is read will be messy, raw and brand new. It is a wonderful way to generate ideas, phrases and images for new or existing projects. In the groups I attended, members ranged from published novelists who used the practice for working on their next novel to those who wanted to write their truth regardless of who, if anyone, ever read it. Everyone is welcomed and spelling doesn't count.

I'm sorry I didn't make it this time gang. I'm going to spend some time today working on this website so that it doesn't automatically schedule meetings on me.
