In April, once again, we will meet at Mocha Java. The meeting will go something like this:

1. Meet and Greet - Socialize, get to know each other a little, and gather together.

2. Introductions - We will go around the group and share our names, what kind of writing we each enjoy and/or are interested in working on, and what we'd like to get out of these meetups.

3. Pick a Prompt from a Coffee Mug and Write - This is what we call free-writing with a topic. We will each put a writing prompt (usually in the form of a question) into a mug, one of us will choose one, and we will all write on it for 10 minutes.

4. Discuss - After writing, we'll go around the group and discuss what we came up with while writing.

5. Share Our Own Work - If anyone is working on a particular writing piece and wants to share with the group, this is the time to do it. Before you start, let us know what you're looking for from us (to listen, critique, answer some question about your work, etc...).

6. Meetup Talk - We will take a few minutes to talk about any particular ideas, comments, or concerns we may have about any aspect of the group. This will keep us on track and in the habit of always trying to make the group better for everyone. I'll also collect membership dues ($2 each).

Hope you all are doing well, and I look forward to seeing/meeting you at Mocha Java on April 13th! Aloha!

Who attended?

    •  I liked our little meeting of the minds.
    •  We had some great discussions after writing on the prompts: "Why are we alive?" and "How will Americans cope when the US is no longer a superpower and is possibly turned into a 3rd world country?" This was really fun and thought-provoking.
    •  This group is wonderful. I will miss the May meeting but look forward to returning in June.
