On Friday November 23 at 7:00 PM at the Borders Bookstore at Morrocroft Village 3900 Colony Road, Charlotte, NC 28211, NC State professor and author Stacey Cochran will moderate a panel with authors J.D. Rhoades and Alexandra Sokoloff on the topic of "How to Publish a Book, How to Get a Literary Agent." This event is free to attend, and newcomers are welcome.

Alexandra and J.D. are published with major New York publisher St. Martin's Press and are represented by Trident Media Group.

We're going to get to the bottom of the publishing mystery regarding how to write a book that wins the acceptance of a major literary agent and the support of a publisher like St. Martin's Press.

You can come to ask questions, or you can come just to listen. I would like to encourage you to buy the authors' books at this event. Though it is free to attend, purchasing the authors' books ensures that we can continue scheduling discussions like these in our community.

So come on out and take part in the discussion with these great North Carolina authors who have hit it big with their books. This will be fun, folks! Come join us.

Awesome!!!I am deeply grateful to the presenters. I learned a lot. This gave me another "jump shot" at accomplishing my writing goals. Thank you. Thank you.
    •  I've been to several panel discussions on this topic at conferences, but heard new advice from Alexandra and JD. They had very helpful suggestions that felt right on the mark and answered all the questions very thoughtfully. Can't wait to read their books!
    •  Great Event! Being able to talk to published authors about their experiences is a great motivator. I went home and wrote my 500 words. Did you?
