--This summer, Alex will be in New Mexico finishing his novel and John will moderate our meetings. Alex returns in the fall.

--Over the summer, we will try out a bit of format evolution. When new members join, they often express a wish to share unique personal stories with the group, and exclusive reliance on prompts may well block that. So we are going to make the third of the three exercises prompt-free. The first two exercises will still be written on the spot from prompts, for ten minutes each, then read aloud. But the third exercise will be open to whatever you want to say per meeting as long as it remains short: no more than 800 words or 15 minutes of writing. You can either prepare this third piece in advance or write it on the spot for 15 minutes and then read it--whatever you want to say, just keep it short!
