Julius DeAngelus

950 North 5th Street is a cozy, hobbit-like row home in the eclectic "NoLibs" area of Philadelphia. Street parking is available and the host (me!) will provide coffee and snacks. I have to give a shout out to my wife for all her help. It won't be as cramped (I hope) and I have plenty of chairs to go around - or, you can sit on the floor Bohemian style!

Thanks to Julius for sharing his house. About 16 showed to the new location. Quiet, easy to get to and free parking. Good submissions.

    •  Julius' house and his hospitality were great. However, I don't really think that it would maintain its comfort level if even a few more people show up (it got pretty loud there at one point, and the space is almost as narrow as the coffee shop), and I think some members feel more comfortable in a public setting and a more central location (hence, the no-shows). But if we have it there again I'll gladly show up. Thanks, Julius.
    •  The Meetup was absolutely wonderful. Some of my work was critiqued and I was so happy with the positive comments, and the constructive criticism was excellent. It helps me during the revision process and enlightens me as to what I need to bone up on...OOPS, there I go with the ellipses!!! I'm so thrilled that I found this group! I feel so much at home among my fellow writers. Thx Julius for your hospitality and hosting the meetup at your home...Thx to your wife and mother too! : - } I'm so bummed to think that I'll miss the next meetup in June due to a wedding, it's ashame the dates conflicted...Look forward to seeing everyone at the next meetup in July! •  Great! Loved the members and the insightful critiques that they offered. A very welcoming, congenial group.
    •  It was interesting and entertaining. The wide variety of styles and opinions seems thought-provoking and challenging at times.
    •  I only wish we met more often. This was my first meeting. I thought the format was good and the participants really showed a lot of curiosity and respect. I had not read the submissions before the meeting, but I still found the comments interesting. I know I have a hunger for feed back from other writers and the meetup appears to be a very good place to satisfy my needs. I could feel the same energy from the other participants. I am looking forward to the next meeting and would only add that more coorespondance within the group in the time before the next meeting might be a good thing. I am not sure how to go about this.
