"Thanks for your input. A friend steered me to a great book for writing. It's called "Writing Down the Bones". I can't think of the author's name off hand (and I'm too lazy to go upstairs to get the book!) but it's a really good motivator. The author of the book writes poetry, but her suggestions are very helpful-in fact, you named a few of them! I'm hoping to be able to come to the next meeting, especially since the subject is "editing". Thanks for the help!"

"Jen, what i wouldnt give to have something completed! All you can do right now is your best, if you let something remain in the closet getting fat and eating all the food in the refrigerator! the next time you'll come back to edit, then youll be rehatching poking and proding everything, and before you know it youve got a serously screwed up novel. If you are improving in your writing-which all wrighters do when we continue to write-you might think its junk. I think you should send it :)"
