What inspires your writing?

"The joy of getting the words right, making scenes come to life."

What genre, or area of expertise, is your writing?

"Mainstream "smart women's fiction," my agent calls it. My novel, Hot Water, is a romance of sorts, but always shelved with mainstream fiction / literature. My in-the-door book. Now for the sequel, Steam, then revive some of those earlier novels."

Who is your favorite author?

"Having taught high school English, I have lots. Steinbeck, Keysey, Harper Lee. My all time favorite book: Michael Ondaatje's The English Patient"
