The front desk will direct people to our meeting room - typically the Board Room.

Our major focus is providing constructive feedback on a story?s characterization, plot, suspense, action, tension, conflict, setting, emotion, point of view, etc...with a minor focus on grammar and mechanics.

Writers are requested to bring about 5 numbered, typed, double-spaced pages (roughly 1000 words) and enough copies for members to mark up with comments and suggestions. Preferred font is 12 point Times New Roman or Courier.

Meetings are from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Beach & Tennis Club which requires guest to pay $3.00 for the use of the club house. Bring your own drinks and snacks.

Way to save the day - er - night, Michael!

Who attended?

    • Michael Varma (+1 guest)
We had an exciting time tonight. As a reminder, our group's focus is to provide helpful critiques with direct feedback based upon our interpretations of your work. We will not engage in lengthy dicussions on prose. If you prefer the latter then we recommend the Irvine Intensive workshops.
    •  Very professional, it's great to be around people who are so successful and knowledgeable about writing & publishing.
    •  Great organizer. Helpful critiques. Very much worthwhile.
    •  I liked Ned. Where's Ned now that we need him. Rod
    •  Michael, our organizer, showed once again why he is so good in that position. When a new member became quite argumentative and confrontational while people were critiquing his writing, Michael was very good at keeping things from getting out of hand.
